This year, we were invited to participate in the Indian River Festival in Titusville.
The Indian River Festival is a tradition in Titusville. Located on the banks of the Indian River, this festival promotes Titusville’s local economy by celebrating the Indian River and their natural resources, local food and culture, and outdoor recreation and health. It is a vehicle to promote healthy families and a healthy community by providing education and opportunity to enjoy food, fun and fitness.
We were asked to incorporate a “kite festival” within the festival itself to help promote kiting and also encourage families to get outside and be active. Our club produced and gave away approximately 300 free kite kits to children and put on a kite flying display that hasn’t been seen in Titusville before.
Along with the Central Florida Kite Club, Kite Stop had a tent setup to sell kites and wind spinners, and Kiteman Productions put up a huge 100ft Peter Lynn Octopus kite that really wow’ed the crowds.
We are extremely proud of how it turned out, and can’t wait until next year!
